Q: Do I get to pick what I receive?

In a word, no. When you sign up, you're joining an exclusive club where every other week you will receive a freshly baked slice of heaven. Maybe it's bread. Maybe you'll get some cookies. We will post what we're making on our website. This way, we keep it simple and we're not trying to make a bunch of different things at the same time. Oof... could you imagine? We'd have to quit our day jobs.

Q: What ingredients do you use?

Ingredients are listed on the newsletter. We only use the basics - simple ingredients like flour, sugar, salt, oil or butter, eggs, sour cream, corn meal and spices. We use no preservatives or fillers. Pans and muffin tins may be buttered or Crisco'd, just like Mom did. Some of the sourdough breads will have rye, wheat, bran, spelt and other flours, per the chef's whim. Under NY State rules, we cannot sell fruit/vegetable breads (sorry! no banana bread, pumpkin bread, etc.). Darn it. Dried fruits -- raisins, apricots, etc. are okay and we will use them from time to time.

Q: Why are you only selling a few things?

We make a few things and we make them well. We don't want to overextend and then start selling something that's merely "good." You can get "good" at the grocery store. From time to time we may try a "special" to see if people like it. Also, we're just getting off the ground and we're open to suggestions!

(Recipes from your Grandma are always welcome!)

Q: Do you take custom orders?

Sorry - not at this time.

Q: Do you make Gluten-Free bread?

Yuck. That's not bread.

Q: Do you make Keto bread?

We tried that. It was gross. So eggy. Blech.

Q: How do I pause my order?

We haven't really figured out how to pause billings. So, if you wish to remain in the club, we'll skip your delivery for as long as you need us to, but we'll donate your bread to a shut-in or local charity until you're ready to start receiving it again. Just email us at customer.service@neighborbread.com by the Wednesday prior to the weekend and let us know when to pause and when to resume your order. If you wish to cancel, just send us an email.

Q: I really need to talk with a human being. Can I call?

Certainly. Call or text us at 518-545-7376 during normal business hours. You'll get Andy - chief cook and bottle washer.
